Frequently Asked Questions
How much will this cost?
We make billing simple. Depending on what you need, you may be able to pay a flat fee – one up-front price, no matter how long it takes us. Many contracts and filings fall under this category. If we agree that the complexity of your situation requires an hourly rate, you will start with an estimate of the amount of time the matter should take and you will receive regular updates as we proceed. You should never be surprised by a bill.
Understand that you are working with an entrepreneurial firm. We operate like you do: Efficiently without the expensive trappings of a big company. You do not have to pay for our fancy conference table or penthouse offices. We work together to set a reasonable and understandable price.

Can any lawyer help me?

Maybe. We all know someone who knows an attorney. The law is a big place, though, and attorneys specialize in different areas. Think of medical doctors. Any medical doctor may be able to diagnose a heart attack, but when faced with one, you want to see a cardiologist. At the Law Offices of Sean-Michael Green, LLC, we are focused on helping entrepreneurs.

Why focus on serving veterans and their families?
Because that is who we are. Your status as a veteran or the family member of a veteran might play a role in your business; more likely, it will not. But we share a background, a set of values, and a language. Do we advise people with no military affiliation? Absolutely! But the intention of our firm is to help the home team.

Will I need a law degree to understand your advice?
No! We give practical, understandable advice from one human to another. If you need additional clarification or explanation, ask. We honestly don’t mind breaking down complicated concepts. While we are your primary partner for legal issues, we are hands-on entrepreneurs rooting for your continued success. We engage in conversation and brainstorming that includes all legal and business issues.

How often do we need to meet?

It depends on your situation. We want to be respectful of your time, but we want to ensure a complete understanding of your needs. We err on the side of over-communication, but those communications are around your schedule and in the format you want. Emails and phone calls can serve for most updates.

Will you tell me what I want to hear?

No, but we will tell you what you need to hear in a way that you want to hear it. We will not spew legalese at you. We pride ourselves on explaining the law and supporting your business. Sometimes, we need to advise you of risks or roadblocks; but as entrepreneurs, we serve as creative partners to find paths towards your goals.

Do you sell canned advice or courses I could take?

No. The law is complicated, but you and your goals are infinitely more complicated. To refer you to a web site or an audiobook or a pamphlet is to insult the unique qualities of your situation. There is money to be made in selling advice this way, but it does a disservice to people who need real help. You will get personalized help from an attorney eager to learn about your needs.
